Happy New Year! (Late I know) & "Fan-Art" illustration galore!

Happy (Late) New Year Peeps! It is I once again doing what I always do, updating this Bloggy of mine to showcase thy creativity!

Believe it or not I'm actually going to post some more Fan-Art! (Might start doing this more often). So the following characters you'll see in these illustrations will be from Aldous Huxley's book; "Brave New World".
To begin, the above illustration is of Bernard Marx (short, skinny man on the right) convincing an excited John Savage (tall, handsome man in rags on the left) to come join him in the so-called "Brave New World". Woman in the middle staring "lovingly" at John is Lenina Crowne.
Above is an illustration of 8 month old babies, excitedly mesmerised by the beauty of roses and books. Born and raised via labs without mothers, the babies are unaware they're about to experience a shock of their lives as a lesson...(Don't worry Peeps they don't die but those who've read the book know exactly what's coming next.)
Above illustration is the scene where Bernard Marx manages to secure his job by humiliating his boss Tomakin/Director for life, preventing the latter from firing him. Bernard (short man on the left) is smugly looking on as Tomakin/Director's former lover Linda, whose now fat and ugly with bad teeth (this is how she was described in the book by the way), goes over to lovingly embrace Tomakin/Director. Tomakin/Director is horrified by this since the whole "Brave World World" is an incredibly shallow place where ugly people no longer exist. Don't know about you guys but the way Tomakin/Director's looks were described in the book, he hardly sounded like an oil painting himself! Oh I'm sorry I forgot, ONLY women get criticised for being ugly against their will, how dare they(?!) They're the ones who have to go out of their ways to look good whereas all men are God's Gift and thus, need to make NOOOOOOOO effort at all, silly me(!) Ahem, please excuse my mini sarcastic rant but this kind of double standard attitude in our society always pisses me off. Anyways moving on...
And last but not least, the above is the illustration showcasing a scene which leads towards the tragic final scene. I was originally going to illustrate the final scene itself but the more I tried to create it, the more I felt uncomfortable about it since what happened in the end isn't pleasant at all and to draw it I felt would be very insensitive. I know it's "only fiction" but still, I don't think it's right to make a light issue of it (again, those who've read the book will know what I'm talking about). So without giving anything away, I instead drew a scene from the book leading up to that tragedy. It's the scene of where the so-called "civilised" society of the "Brave New World" gather around John Savage (man kneeling down on the left), laughing at him and his apparent "savage" way of life. Little do they know, their attitude is about to lead to dire, tragic consequences...

These illustrations are intended to be Black&White with Red by the way. Not sure if I'm going to colour these later but we'll see.

Well, that's all for now folks and until next time...

See ya later Navigators! :D
